Finished Objects

I haven't been showing any finished objects for a while, so here are some of my recently finished objects.

What you see here are

• an All Shawl (pattern by Doris Chan) made out of cotton yarn from my stash, 
• a Wings shawl (I still need to write down the pattern) made out of Hema Medium acrylic yarn
• another Wings shawl, made out of Hema Fine acrylic yarn (held double)
• and a Bella Shawl (pattern by Annie Baker (JumperCablesKnitting)) made out of Malabrigo Rios.

(I like to wear shawls, did you guess? :)

Spring Weather: Enjoying the Garden

Keukenhof

It's Spring, so the Keukenhof is open! It is so beautiful there, there is so much colour and scent to enjoy! Yesterday I was there for the third time this season, and I hope that I can another couple of times before they close on May 19th.

Textielmuseum

Vorige week zaterdag werd de jaarlijkse Vriendendag van het Textielmuseum gehouden, dit keer met als thema 'Culinair textiel'; er was van alles te zien en te proeven. Ik bekeek natuurlijk ook de rest van het museum (met o.a. de tentoonstelling 'Body Jewels', hier met werk van Winde Rienstra).

Aziatische kunst en de Nederlandse smaak

Op zaterdag 5 april werd in het Gemeentemuseum in Den Haag de tentoonstelling 'Aziatische kunst en de Nederlandse smaak' geopend.  Ik heb de tentoonstelling (en ook nog een paar andere zalen trouwens) uitgebreid bekeken. Textiel was er niet veel te zien, maar er waren wel een aantal echte sarongs en kabaja's; die waren ook op schilderijen te zien, zoals op dit schilderij 'Jongedame in schommelstoel' (Batavia 1869) door Jan Daniel Beijnon (1830-1877). De tentoonstelling is nog tot 26 oktober 2014 in het Gemeentemuseum te zien.
