Mainly Hats

After having surgery, 4 weeks ago today, I spent most of my time focusing on getting better and so I haven’t done much. I’ve been reading (for example this book that was sent to me by my kind colleagues, it’s an easy read and very funny, I’m enjoying it a lot) and there have been DVD’s to watch and enjoy. There has been some knitting too, but only small projects, like these socks (I keep them in my Della Q project bag that was a Christmas present from my very first American Ravelry friend!). I’ve also been working on a very easy hat pattern. The 3 hats that you see here were all made using the same basic pattern, although there were some variations. I will write out the pattern later and post it here, maybe next week or so.

And I’m hoping that I can start working on some bigger projects again soon (I already have one in mind!)

Three finished objects

This week I finished three projects. That may seem like a lot, but two of them were small projects that I started earlier this year; a pair of Mittens 101 (by Kate Atherley) and another All Shawl (by Doris Chan).
The third finished object is a project that I started in 2009 (!), a Neat Ripple Blanket by Attic 24. I took a good look at it earlier this week, and decided that it was big enough. So I finished a row that was half-finished, wove in the ends, and hey presto, we finally have that throw on our living room couch!
I actually finished four objects this week, because I also knit a hat. It was a very simple project, and I will show you the hat as soon as I have written out the pattern for it (which will probably be next week, so stay tuned for that!).

Finished: Colourful Project #1 - 'Staccato' by Kirsten Kapur

About a week ago I finished my 'Colourful Project #1', the 'Staccato' cardigan by Kirsten Kapur and I love it. It's easy to slip on or off, it's warm, it fits great, and I love the colours and the way that this cardigan looks. I'm wearing it all the time. It's made out of Cascade 220, bought at Penelope Craft.

At the moment I can only work on smaller projects, and the ones I'm working on right now are another All Shawl by Doris Chan (my 4th, this time made out of Madelinetosh Sock, also from Penelope Craft) and Mittens 101 by Kate Atherley (made out of Cascade 220).
