In
December 1983 my aunt Els sent us (my mother, my 2 sisters, and me) a
Christmas card with a small cross-stitch image on it. Now, 31
years later, I stitched the pattern up for each of
us as a Christmas present. My aunt is no longer with us, but we're
sure that she would have been so pleased.
Last Tuesday after work, I visited the China Light Festival Utrecht in the Utrecht Botanical Garden. Even though it was quite crowded - I had not expected there to be this many visitors - it was still possible to take a good look at all the beautiful objects. I really enjoyed it.
Unfortunately, the cardigan that I've been knitting on turned out to be a real Cardigan of Doom. I’ve been working on it for quite some time, mainly because it needed so much frogging. Reasons for this were:
there turned out to be a big color difference between the Strange Harvest skeins, so I had to find out the best way to deal with that. The flash makes it looks a little worse than it does in real life, but still…
I found out that I didn’t have enough yarn to complete the cardigan, so I had to order more and re-knit the sleeves. Even now I’ve only got a very little bit of yarn left.
I must say though that the front looks very nice now though, and I love the buttons. Oh well... I finished the crocheted bag some time ago, but I kept forgettting to take pictures of it.
The other thing I've been working on is a really nice cross-stitch project, but I'll show that later.
