Myra Wood - Crazy Lace

About 2 months ago I read about this book on someone's blog (I forgot who's blog it was, but it was a very positive review). So I decided to order this book - via Myra's website - and when the book came I liked it so much that I immediately ordered a copy for my friend C. as well. I can really recommend the book, the pictures are beautiful and very inspirational. I noticed that there is a Crazy Lace group on Ravelry. And you can hear an interview with Myra Wood in episode 30 of the Never Not Knitting podcast. I haven't done any crazy lace knitting myself yet, but I did buy some yarn that I'm going to use for it. I have some idea of what I want to make, but it's still a a bit vague. I'll probably start this as a holiday knitting project, but I'm already looking forward to it!

My First Akimbo

No time for blogging or reading! I'm working on my first Akimbo and I'm really enjoying the colours.

Zondag

Een lekker rustige zondag vandaag. Lekker op de bank zitten, beetje naar de neerdwarrelende sneeuw kijken (al weer...), genieten van de bloemen en veel breien natuurlijk. Vrijdagavond ben ik begonnen aan een nieuw project, een Akimbo-sjaal van ontwerper Stephen West. Het wordt geen supergrote sjaal, maar in principe moet ie vanwege de afmetingen toch wel gebreid worden op een rondbreinaald, iets waar ik nogal een hekel aan heb. Gelukkig weet ik van T., die erg goed kan breien en ook niet van rondbreinaalden houdt, dat je als het moet ook erg veel steken kwijt kan op een gewone rechte naald! Vandaar dat ik het voorlopig gewoon op rechte naalden doe en dan merk ik wel waar het schip strandt (of hopelijk niet). Oja, en mijn nieuwste Peppy-dasje (van Noro Kureyon Sock garen) is ook af.

Noro-shirt #1

Ik ben helemaal blij met mijn nieuwe Noro-shirt! Het kostte wel wat tijd om de circel netjes en stevig vast te naaien, maar het resultaat ziet er precies zo uit als ik in mijn hoofd had. Een tweede Noro-circel is inmiddels ook af en ook die ga ik binnenkort op een shirt naaien.

Today I finished my Noro-shirt! It took quite some time to sew the circle onto the sweater, but I'm very pleased with the result, it looks just like I hoped it would. I've already finished a second Noro-circle and some day soon I will sew that onto a shirt too.

(Halve) circel

Wat is dit leuk om te doen! Inmiddels is het al een halve circel geworden en het is grappig om te zien hoe die circel langzaam onder je handen groeit. Wordt weer vervolgd...
