Ik kan eindelijk weer eens wat breiprojecten laten zien; 1 project is af, 1 project is half af en 1 is net begonnen. Het project dat half af is is het 'Lotus'-vest van Marie Wallin. Trouwens, eigenlijk is dit vest wat breien betreft af. Nu moeten er 'alleen nog maar' de gehaakte gedeelten worden gedaan. Maar omdat ik eerst de beddensprei af wil haken voor ik aan het Lotus-haakwerk ga beginnen, laat ik het Lotus-project nu even liggen.Toen de gebreide gedeelten van het Lotus-vest af waren, kon ik met een nieuw project beginnen en dat werd een leuk klein project. Een buurvrouw kwam vorige week namelijk langs met het razend-populaire boek 'Kerstballen breien met Arne en Carlos' bij zich, en ze vroeg of ik haar wilde laten zien hoe je zulke kerstballen moet breien. Ze liet het boek bij me achter, zodat ik het eens kon bestuderen. En zoals ze al voorspeld had gebeurde ook, binnen de kortste keren had ik zelf ook vast een kerstbal gebreid. Ik vind eekhoorns leuk en er stond een eekhoorn-kerstbal in het boek, dus die keus was snel gemaakt. Ik heb de staart van de eekhoorn iets naar mijn smaak aangepast en ik heb de kerstbal gebreid in kleuren waar ik op dat moment zin in had, en ik ben zeer tevreden over het resultaat. Oudste Dochter wil er ook wel zo-een hebben voor op haar kamer, zei ze, dus er gaan denk ik nog wel meer gebreide kerstballen volgen.
Toen de kerstbal af was, kon ik aan een nieuw breiproject beginnen en dat wordt de Side Slip Cloche van Laura Irwin. Ik brei 'm van Rowan Kid Classic (kleur 863) dat ik een tijdje geleden zo maar van mijn Amerikaanse Ravelry vriendin heb gekregen (inderdaad, ik bof met zo'n vriendin!)
At last I have some knitting projects to show you. One project is finished, one is half finished, and one has just been started. The project that is half finished is the Lotus cardigan by Marie Wallin. In fact I finished all the knitted parts of this sweater, now the crochet parts still need to be done (but I want to let that wait until I'm done with crocheting the bedspread).
After I finished knitting on the Lotus, I knit a christmas ball out of the extremely popular ' Julekuler' book by Norwegian designers Arne and Carlos. The book is now available in a Dutch translation, which makes it even easier for us. One of my neighbours bought the book and asked me if I could show her how to knit them, and she left the book with me so that I could do some studying. Of course I couldn't help myself and in no time I had knitted one of the projects. I happen to like squirrels, so I chose to knit the one with squirrels. I changed the design of my squirrels' tail a little bit and I chose a rather different color combination and I'm very happy with the result.
So after that project was finished, I started on a new project today. I will be making the Side Slip Cloche by Laura Irwin. I'm knitting it out of Rowan Kid Classic (shade 863) yarn, that was sent to me a while ago by my American Ravelry friend (thanks again!!!). I've only just started it, but it's knitting up quite fast and I'm really enjoying this project.
Mooie kerstbal....maar dat had ik al gezegd ;)))
